GDEC: in the morning of March 18, Prof. Ahsan Kareem, NAE member, president of International Association for Wind Engineering, professor of civil and environmental engineering and geological sciences department, American Notre Dame University, was employed as our honorary professor. The engagement ceremony was held in the international lecture hall of Railway Campus. Prof. Tian Hongqi, Academician of China, Vice President of CSU, issued the letter of appointment to Professor Ahsan Kareem.
On behalf of Central South University, Vice President Tian Hongqi issued the letter of the honorary professor appointment to Ahsan Kareem, hoping that Prof. Ahsan Kareem could pay frequent visits to our campus and carry out academic exchanges as well as make instructions on relevant scientific research for further communication and cooperation.
After the engagement ceremony, Prof. Ahsan Kareem gave a lecture titled Bridge Aerodynamics: The Next Frontiers. On the basis of relevant research achievements and engineering cases, a computing tool in bridge aerodynamics was explicated in detail. Together with corresponding bridge engineering cases, the latest theoretical model, computing model and physical model were also presented.
After the lecture, Prof. Ahsan Kareem went to the wind tunnel laboratory in Central South University for visit.
